Mental Health First Aid
As mentioned in the Healthy Lethbridge Meeting, the Chinook Primary Care Network is hosting a variety of mental health first aid sessions. We have a few extra spots available that I would like to extend to community partners. Can you please forward this information to the Healthy Lethbridge Group.
Mental Health First Aid participants will receive the skills and knowledge required to provide support to people who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis. Training will cover material such as: spotting the signs and symptoms of mental illness, assessing the risk for suicide and self-harm, deescalating situations, maintaining one's own mental wellbeing. We have a variety of sessions to choose from.
Please note, a mandatory 2 hour pre-learning is required to participate in the sessions. A minimum of 8 people are needed to run a course. All the courses are 8hrs long, except the Indigenous MFHA which is 2.5 days.
